  • 12 oz no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese (whole milk)
  • 16 oz shredded mozzarella cheese (fresh)
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves (chopped)
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or Italian sausage. Drain excess fat and mix in half of the marinara sauce.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer ingredients in the baking dish: start with marinara sauce on the bottom, followed by noodles, meat mixture, and cheese filling. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  5. Top with remaining mozzarella and cover with foil. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
